I almost didn’t want to share my special place with you…but I am. Wheelhouse Coffee is pretty much my third home. If it’s a weekday and I’m not at home or at my office, there’s a 90% chance that I’m here.

When Georgia and I found out that our beloved Uptown Espresso shop was closing, we sat in “our” chairs and cried in our cappuccinos. Okay, we didn’t really cry, but we were kind of stunned when we saw that sign. After mourning our loss, we had to decide where our new mini-office would be. Being the women that we are, we chose Wheelhouse Coffee because we could see it as soon as we walked out of our building. Sure, it might be a block and a half away versus Uptown’s less than one block away, but we were up for the trek.

And guys…I really have to say that even though I love Uptown Espresso’s velvet foam (and that their prepaid drink card gives you two free drinks compared to Wheelhouse’s one), I prefer hanging out at Wheelhouse. Their space is gorgeous. Everyone who works there is SO FRIENDLY and I love them all. And, importantly, their cappuccino kicks ass.

Beginning on Monday, July 2nd, I’ll be running Inward Facing Girl full-time and Wheelhouse will likely move up to becoming my second home away from home. Some days I may visit Lighthouse Roasters, their sister shop in Fremont, but Lighthouse Roasters won’t have Georgia, so Wheelhouse wins.
