Vacation is definitely over, my pretties. It was good for me to get a semi-break and press my reset button before I really get started in this whole new world of freelancing, but honestly I’m ready to get to work!
I want to share some of the things that I’ve been doing to ramp up my business. I know that some of you want to do this type of thing too, and I’d love to help you get your TeuxDeux list together.
Find A Local Networking Group
A local networking group, preferably one that publishes pretty books like this, is key. I’m starting to get to know CRAVE and so far I like what I see. Last week I had my photo shoot for the CRAVE Seattle guide and I’m looking forward to seeing how my entry will be put together.
Later this month I’m attending my first CRAVE Chat (at Trophy Cupcakes…yum!) and I’m really excited to meet other creative entrepreneuresses in my neighborhood. It should be a lot of fun. Did I mention the cupcakes?
Yesterday I introduced myself to the national CRAVE group on Facebook and I might have met someone who wants me to design funky and fun wedding invitations for her! I’d love to do that.
Reach Out To Your Interwebs People
One of the things on my long task list for today is to write an email that explains what I do and make a list of people that I want to contact for referrals. So much business comes from connecting with people you already know. It may not come directly from them, but they could always know someone who knows someone that needs your service or product. All you have to do is ask.
Finishing Touches
My business website will never be finished, and it shouldn’t be. I’ll constantly update it with new designs, photographs, reviews, and information, but there are still a few things I’d like to change in the current version. I added a photography and graphic design section, but I still have more galleries to add and refine. Once I have all of the images that I think I want to include, then it’s time to go back and delete some of them. Sometimes I really suck at editing my own work. I love a lot of things and I have to remind myself that I don’t have to show you every single thing that I love all at once.
