My obsessions are singularly focused this week. I’m OBSESSED with taking online courses!
I started with the Alt Channel as soon as they got it up and running earlier this year. Then moved on to Claudine Hellmuth’s Composition for Collage course this summer, quickly followed by Shaping Up Your Content (and registered for the upcoming Personal Branding ecourse) with Braid Creative, and now I’ve started the month-long Blogging Your Way Boot Camp by Holly Becker of Decor8, with special guest instructors Nicole Balch of Making It Lovely and Jeanette Lund from ByFryd. I’m getting my learn on, people!
You know what I love about taking these courses? Even though I already know a lot about some of this stuff, I always pick up something new or notice something about my own work that I never saw before. Usually something that should be fixed immediately! I love the ability to interact with other bloggers, creative business owners, or artists and make new friends. I love discovering new blogs, ventures, or art. I love learning from people that I admire and respect. Plus, I can do it at my own pace in my pajamas. Best way to attend class EVER.
This week I’m going to be applying some of my learnings from the Shaping Up Your Content site to my business website. Much of the problem has been that I haven’t been communicating clearly enough about the details of the services I offer and what I can do for bloggers or business owners. So, yes, that means I’m redesigning my business site for the third time and completely rewriting the text. I’m really looking forward to it! Seriously…no sarcasm there…I’m that much of a geek. :)
