Creative Duo: Rhea Thierstein + Tim Walker

I love working by myself, coming up with all kinds of creative projects and client strategies. I like the quiet and the time for deep, uninterrupted thought. But sometimes I miss collaborating on projects with other creatives.

Note to self: Collaborate on more projects.

Finding one person to develop new creative projects with again and again sounds even more appealing. Over time you develop a familiarity with their working style, vision, and strengths. That’s how I imagine the subjects of today’s talented duo to be. Rhea Thierstein and Tim Walker have paired their creative brains and skills time and time again to do things like make flowers grow from Kate Moss’s body in LOVE Magazine or transport us to a world where giant insects play instruments alongside clothing from Uniqlo in Vogue Japan.

Rhea creates fantastic sets, costumes, and props and Tim documents his vision through amazing photographs that features Rhea’s work. The combination translates into creepily beautiful fashion spreads.

You can see more of their joint and individual work on their websites.

Thoughts for a Monday: Do you usually work alone or do you prefer working with a creative posse or person? What do you like or dislike about doing creative work alone compared to being part of a team? Let’s chat about it in the comments section or on Facebook.
