The California Love Collection is inspired by my lifelong love and fascination with Southern California.
I feel pretty lucky that I’ve had the chance to live in L.A. twice and visit a bunch of times. There’s no way that I could replicate the energy and light that I feel when I’m there, but I hope that my art will give you some sense of light, relaxation, and adventure.
Driving down the PCH is inspired by one of my favorite views in the L.A. area. When you drive down the Pacific Coast Highway you see the Pacific Ocean on one side and mountains on the other. There’s something magical about the light and peaceful about the ocean, even during rush hour. When I visited Los Angeles in October my friend and I drove this path a few times. One night we had dinner at The Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon. The next day we drove it again to hike up the rocky trail at Point Dume in Malibu. You can see inspiration photos from the trip and this California abstract art print on Saatchi Art.
Poolside at the Ace Palm Springs is inspired by one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever visited – the Ace Hotel and Swim Club in Palm Springs, California. Hanging out at the pool and gazing up at the California stars against a backdrop of palm trees and mountains is the best! The colors and textures in this California abstract art print remind me of the beautiful hotel designed by Commune and the feeling that I get whenever I think of my trips there. See some of my inspiration photographs on Saatchi Art!
I hope you enjoyed this abstract walk through my California! xoxo
