From the Stacks: Elle Decoration June 2012

Elle Decoration is one of my favorite home design and decor magazines. I think I bought my first issue in the early 90s. I’m not sure if the theme of the issue was “lots of white” or if it was just something I hadn’t seen much of yet, but I still remember what the cover looked like. I studied that issue over and over again. It was one of the times that I realized how much I loved design and photography even though I didn’t know anything about it.

The June 2012 issue is one that will remain on my bookshelf. There was so much inspiration packed into these pages! Here are some photographs from a few of my favorite articles.

Signature Style – The home of calligrapher Ylva Skarp and her family in Leksand, Sweden. written by Helen Brown | photographed by Karin Forberg | Styling/Production by Anna Mȧrd/House of Pictures

Blue-sky Thinking – The home of Natascia Cappelazzo and Alberto Damiani and their family in Milan.  written by Charlotte Abrahams | photographed by Alessandra Ianniello | production by Petra Barkhof

Back to Basics – The home of designer, illustrator, and entrepreneur Jacqueline Schmidt and her husband in Park Slope, Brooklyn. written by Tessa Pearson | photographed by Matthew Williams/Photofoyer

I hope you have an inspiring day! I think I’ll go pretend that my office looks like one of these places instead of the room I’m actually in.
