Perfect Pairs: Easy Mornings
Traveling Through Tuscany in 2009 and my prints Coffee With A View and A Quiet Morning
Sometimes two things belong together — not just side by side, but in spirit.
Perfect Pairs is my way of sharing small, curated combinations that echo a mood or a memory. Some pairs live only in paint; others weave in my travel photography, favorite books or films, or a brief glimpse of a moment that lingers in my mind.
Each pairing is an invitation to see how art can hold space for the stories we carry.
Piazza del Campo in Siena, 2009
Two prints to help you slow down.
There’s a quiet kind of luxury in mornings that unfold gently — when there’s nowhere to rush to just yet, and you can greet the day in your own way. A Quiet Morning and Coffee With A View were inspired by travel, but painted with these moments in mind: small, hushed invitations to pause, breathe, and ease into your day at a kinder pace.
These two prints are part of my Simple Pleasures collection that I created with Cassandra LaValle of Casa di LaValle in 2022. Cassandra’s warm, sunlit palette, inspired by the handmade Italian splatterware in her shop, brought me back to my own memories of exploring Tuscany with my husband.
These photos were taken in Florence and Siena during our two-week honeymoon in April and May of 2009. I remember the joy of leisurely mornings, long walks, and conversations across café tables in lively piazzas.
When we travel, we naturally give ourselves permission to linger: to watch, to taste, to simply be somewhere. Simple Pleasures is my reminder that we can bring that same spirit home.
Even if you’re not sipping espresso on a Tuscan street, you can sit a little longer with your coffee. You can watch the light shift through your window. You can create a corner of your home that feels like an invitation to slow down — and allow these art prints to keep you company there.
Both prints are available as part of my Wonderwall Studio Collection.
Take your time. Savor it all.
