The Shape of Time
The Shape of Time is the first in a textured, layered pair of paintings shaped by a quiet morning in Corfu. Wandering through the Old Fortress, I became absorbed by the way light moved across the ancient tiles beneath my feet. Their weathered surfaces, softened by centuries of sun and wear, seemed to glow gently through cracks and imperfections.
When I returned to the studio, I initially thought I was painting the memory of those tiles. As the layers built and shifted, something deeper revealed itself. I realized I wasn’t painting a place at all. I was painting transformation.
This work holds the feeling of subtle inner change, the slow and often unnoticed shifts that unfold over time. It reflects the way meaning settles and reshapes itself quietly, much like light finding its way into old stone. These layers speak to the evolving relationship between time, memory, and becoming.
